Kawasaki Recalls Teryx Vehicles Over Labels

Kawasaki in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling approximately 2,ooo Teryx side-by-side vehicles because they are “…incorrectly labeled as having a higher occupant capacity than is safe.”  The vehicles were sold between August 2011 and March 2012 and include the Teryx 750 FI 4×4, Teryx 750 FI 4×4 LE, Teryx 750 FI 750 4×4 LE SGE and Teryx 750 FI 4×4 Sport models.  Consumers will be mailed a replacement glove compartment with a correct label. They can install it themselves or a Kawasaki dealer will install it for free.  Learn more:  CPSC.gov

Kawasaki Teryx4: First vehicle designed and developed primarily in Lincoln, NE

Kawasaki’s Teryx4 which hit dealer showrooms earlier this year was the first vehicle to be designed and developed primarily at the Lincoln, NE manufacturing facility.  The Lincoln R&D team developed the vehicle from the ground up concentrating on the vehicle’s frame and chassis while their counterparts in Japan worked on the engine and styling.  It was a two to three year process.  The Lincoln facility currently produces nearly the full range of Kawasaki’s consumer products with most of production destined for the US market.  Management reports that more full product re-designs are in the future for the Lincoln R&D team.  Learn more:  Journalstar.com

A Teryx 750 FI 4x4 Sport is the 3,000,000th vehicle produced at Kawasaki's Lincoln, NE plant

The 3,000,000th vehicle recently rolled off the assembly line of Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing’s facility in Lincoln, NE.  In this case the vehicle was a Teryx 750 FI 4×4 Sport.  Over the 36 years of operation the plant has produced motorcycles, snowmobiles, jet skis, ATVs, UTVs industrial robots and rail cars.   Learn more:  Motorcycle-usa.com

Meanwhile John Deere’s Horicon, WI plant just produced the company’s 500,000th Gator utility vehicle.  The XUV825i, the fastest and most powerful Gator yet, rolled off the line seventeen years after the first Gator was produced in 1993.  Learn more:  ATVmagonline.com

  • Digital fuel injection
  • Continuously Variable Transmission features high and low ranges, a reverse gear, very direct feel from the engine, and instantaneous acceleration
  • Limited-slip front differential reduces steering effort under normal four-wheel drive operation, while Variable Front Differential Control permits rider to distribute torque equally to left and right front wheels for maximum traction via a hand lever located between the seats

New electric off-road utility vehicle from France – Volteis Electric Car of France recently launched their X4 electric off-road utility vehicle. Reminiscent of WWII Jeep designs, the X4 features twelve 48 volt, 24 amp-hour lead-acid gel batteries located beneath the front sea and has a top speed is 44 mph. The vehicle is available in a number of configurations including dual electric motors, long and short frames and other options. The frame is made of stainless steel and aluminum.   • All models feature increased horsepower
  • Top speed has increased to 30 mph.
  • High (30 mph max) and low-speed gearing (15 mph max)

Kawasaki Adds Special Graphic Edition Packages for Teryx 750 FI 4×4

Kawasaki has added four special edition graphic packages for their 2010 Teryx 750 FI 4×4.

These unique new immersion graphics packages offer a unique diamond plate pattern that is chemically bonded to colored basecoat paint.  The finished product offers a durable, high-gloss, automotive quality surface that looks similar to anodized aluminum diamond plate, but is actually smooth to the touch and easy to clean.

The graphic packages are available in Diamond Blue, Diamond Red, Diamond Silver and Diamond Black and increases the color options for the Teryx recreation utility vehicle to ten in total.  Learn more:  UTVWeekly.com
